blogging hiatus

hi·a·tus
[hahy-ey-tuhs]
1. a break or interruption in the continuity of a work, series, action, etc.
so i took an unscheduled break from blogging for the last 30 days. during that time, i thought about posting - but nothing came to mind. it's not that nothing has happened, i just don't have any pictures to prove it. plus this has been, quite possibly, the longest summer of my life. and not in a good way. i've had some fun times, but mostly it's been a difficult few months. the summer of my discontent, indeed. suffice it to say, due to the events of the past few months, i no longer have:
* an appendix
* a perfectly undamaged car
* a perfectly undamaged heart
* a place among the "young" single adults of the church
* a vacation fund (see first item on the list)

on the bright side, i found the photo albums i thought i had lost forever. they were well hidden. if it weren't for a flooded basement, i might not have found them for years. i guess it goes to show that sometimes all it takes is a little bit of tragedy to help you find what you've been looking for.
